Yo Gabba Brain Explosion and Surgery.

My brain has been fried with too much Yo Gabba Gabba this weekend. But when the boy is sick, he gets to watch whatever he wants! We went to bed on Friday around midnight and then at 3 Rocky woke up whining and he's been having nightmares lately and usually falls back asleep. But he was like whimpering so Scotty got up to comfort him but then he started to gag, and so I got up too, and we cuddled on the couch for a bit and watched Gabba to distract him. But then about 2 minutes after I down with him in bed, he puked. On my sheets. Gross. So then he was up until about 7 and got sick like 5 more times. It was actually really sad! I hate when he gets sick like that because it's hard to do anything for him. However, once I put some oils on his belly I could tell that gave him some relief. I am so happy I use them! So our Saturday was pretty much a bust since we were all
so tired from lack of sleep! But after lots of hydration and about 12 episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba, he is doing great again!!

I am just so thankful that he hasn't gotten sick with a cold or had his asthma flare up yet this winter *knock on wood!!* We've been extra careful with him, so I hope we can make it all the way through with no hospital visits!

Speaking of sickness and hospital visits. I'm getting surgery next week. Eeek! I have to get my gall bladder out. Which is actually a very common surgery and I'll be back to my good ol' self within a few days. I'll just have 4 small incisions and they'll pull that little sucker out. I decided to go to the doctor after telling a friend about my symptoms. She had just got hers out too and was like "Uh, Holly- that's the story of my life! Go get that checked out!" So I talked to the doctor, he ordered an ultrasound and they found gall stones. So basically I have stomach pain, and I get sick almost every time I eat, and blaaah.... I've dealt with it for years! It gets really intense sometimes. I could go into more detail, but I'll spare you!

I've had some pretty random medical shiz happen to me the past few years, but I've never had a surgery where I have been "put out". So it will be weird/scary for me. But the surgeon is really good and the only risks are bleeding and infection. I've had staph before, and it was AWFUL but I'm sure I'll be fine with this!!

Scotty will be taking great care of me (as always) so I'll just need to rest up so I can be back in action soon! I am just REALLY happy I don't have to stay at the freaking hospital. I'll just be in recovery for a few hours afterwards, and then I can go home and be waited on by my sweet man.

Anyways, that's all for now. I need to get to bed since I start a 6:30am schedule tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!!

On Second Thought....

So I'm sitting here thinking right now.... and maybe I won't go private.... I had all these plans to have this great new blog, and keep this one private, but now I don't think I want to do that! Mostly because I was going to put a lot of energy into it, and now I don't think I want to make time to manage 2 blogs!

Wanna know why? Good. I knew you did! It's because I've decided to become a Certified Foot Zoner! This is a decision that is going to take up a lot of my time and energy. Although I only have class 2 times a month (for 8 hours at a time!) for 4 months, I'll be doing plenty of practicing in between. So I'll need lots of different feet! Let me know if you want me to practice on you for free!

For those of you that don't know what foot zoning is, here is what you could call a definition:

Foot Zone Therapy is an ancient and complex alternative therapy based on the principles that our feet are the signal to the rest of our body . It involves applying directed pressure to the foot along various “zones”, or meridian channels, in order to stimulate other parts of the body. You can think of it as your foot being the keyboard to the rest of your body. Applying specialized pressure techniques to different areas of the foot will trigger different areas of the body.

If you want to read more about it click this link.

I love foot zoning and have personal experience that it is completely legit and one of the best things you can take time to do for yourself. Scotty likes to make fun of it calling it voodoo, haha!
But in all seriousness, the healing and difference that you can experience is pretty cool!

Anyways, I'm excited. Except I need to find someone to watch Rockwell one Saturday a month, but that shouldn't be too much of a headache. I didn't know if I should do it at first because I'm already away from Rock while I work during the week, but this is the best timing while we don't have another kid. Plus, if it goes well enough I could be home once again! But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. I really do love my job, so even if I just help family with my zoning skills, it will be so worth it. Can't wait to get started! Wish me luck!

Going Private. WHAT?!

Hi guys!!

Well wow. December came and went and I didn’t bother to say hello. But the good news is, blogging more has become a new year resolution for me! However, I have decided to make some changes. A change that I vowed never to do. I’m going private. I just decided I’d really like to know that the weirdoes looking at pictures of my kid, and know that they are the weirdoes that I am friends with! So it’s just a little more personal and I’d like to keep this blog about my little family and all the stuff we do, the end.

However, don’t drop a tear just yet because I will also be starting an all new blog! This blog with have lots of different things on it. However, no details about what I did last weekend and the funny stuff Rock says. That will be kept here! It’s mostly going to be junk like TV shows I like, stupid things I want to comment on, cool ideas that I want to share—things of that nature! Stuff I love. So if you are interested, cool! I hope you read it! If not, mosey on over to something else. I have that in the works, so I probably won’t be kicking it off for a few more weeks.

So with that my friends, I shall be writing more about what my family has been doing, a bit later. But for right now, that is the dealio—I’m going private. You can facebook me your email address, or leave a comment and I will send you an invitation!! Everyone that wants to look at my blog is invited, I just want to know who can see it. Thanks everyone!! The blog love has been kinda dead lately. I hope we can all get back on track!

You're all lazy bums!

Is it just me or has everyone just kinda been slacking in the blog/pinterest/facebook update area. I know I have! I mean look,  it's been a whole month since I posted! We went to St.George for Thanksgiving which was awesome because the weather was so nice, we never even wore a jacket. I would post pictures but that would require me to get out my warm bed and dig through the diaper bag for my camera.

But really, I get on Pinterest and no one is pinning. Few people have really been updating thier blogs and so on.... I mean I get it, I don't blame you! Sometimes it's just hard to sit down and type especially when you feel like you don't even know what you want to address. Like me. I'm sitting her talking about nothing at all. The only reason I'm not in slumber land is because we just got a new lappy (that we REALLY needed) and I'm enjoying it. So why not try out this sucka's keyboard? I just wish the keys were backlit.....eh, oh well!

I'm way excited for Christmas because Rock will actually be excited this year about stuff and not just smile polietely while I say "Wow!! How cool! Santa brought you a.....ball that lights up!" They don't get really cool toys when they are that small....

Alright well, I should sleep. I got a busy work week ahead of me. I half-way hope that this 2nd wind storm coming in knocks out the power at my office.

October RECAP!

I'm back! Woohoo!! Blogger looks different.... when did this happen? Eh, I'll have to mess with it later. Anyways- HELLO! We were pretty busy the past few weeks with Fall festivities and what not. We went to Gardner Village, Pack's Pumpkin Patch, hit up that new haunted house "Fear Factory" in SLC with a friend, oh and we went to Black Island Farms for the first time. So it's been a good time! Halloween was so much fun this year since Rock is older and actually has a reaction to things. Let's recap! Note: These piece of crap pictures came from my Blackberry since I can't find my camera. I just need to go buy a new one, it's driving me nuts!!

Rock playing in a tube at Black Island Farms. That place is so fun! We had no idea about it or how cool it was until we went. I was happy with the amount of stuff they had for Rock even though he's still small!
I think he was trying to get Rock to look at me? Not sure, but it's funny!
This was taken while we were riding in the little train pulled by a tractor. We were hitting a lot of bumps and I caught his face right as he was going "Oooo!" It's a terrible picture, but funny!
This is when we went to Gardner Village...... have you ever been there? It's too freaking cute. I love it.
Taysom and Rockwell chillin in the strollers.
Riding in the pumpkin cart while my lil bro Wyatt and his girlfriend, Adrienne pull him along! He LOVES Wyatt. He always yells his name. ALWAYS. I think it's because he hears my dad yelling his name all the time.
Got his pumpkin! It was such a nice night. The past few years we have gone we freeze to death!
Playing in the hay maze with Daddy at Pack's Pumpkin Patch in Farmington. My Dad's cousin owns the joint, we've gone there since the beginning of time.....
Speaking of my Dad, isn't he cute? He posed for this and everything. Don't ask what my sister Shelly is doing.
This is a cheeseball face I made for our Annual Taysom Halloween Dinner! Isn't it so gross?! Everything we ate had a creepy gross theme to it. It's lots of fun!! I'll post more pictures and go into more detail on how I made it later this week! I think.... I try and keep my word on that.

Of course I dressed up at work on Halloween. I was Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba!! Scotty was Muno, and Rock was DJ Lance Rock! My mom made Rock's costume and it is a spitting image of it. We love it! He refused to keep the hat and glasses on that go with it though. Oh, but I did get shoes from the DI and paint them like DJ Lance's! Gabba is such a weird show but I totally get why kids eat that stuff up! My kid is entranced by it.
Went trick-or-treating down the street with my brother Kyle and his kids. Kambrie is so adorable! I just love her! And you can't see Ghandyn's costume but he was the guy from scream. Rockwell freaked out when he came outside with his mask on. It's funny and sad at the same time. He's sort of a wimp though. And I mean that in the most loving way. For example any railroad tracks we drive over, he whines. He just hates it! I think his tummy drops... but he just whimpers like "Mommmy!!" Did I already tell you that? I can't remember.

Me and Scotty took Rock again later when it was dark and it was so much fun! Like really, it truly was. We went out into some Hooper neighborhoods with Katie (Scotty's 10 year old sister) and a few of her friends. People get SO decked out, and we love it! We only went to the cool houses. There were about 4 houses that had an entire spooky walk-though before you got to the candy. I just liked seeing Rock's reaction to some spooky stuff. There is one thing above all that he can not deal with. Ghosts. I'm talking about ghosts made out of white sheets-- he pretty much screams and cried if he saw them or we got close.

We didn't have a problem with the girls until a guy at the last little walk-through whipped out a chainsaw!! Luckily, Scotty sat out with Rock on that one. But one of the girls is only about 6 and she was terrified. The guy had to come apologize and tell her it was pretend. Why wouldn't they warn us if we have someone so little with us?! Eh, oh well- it was Halloween and it was so fun!!

I'm sure you're bored by now, but thanks for catching up with me!

I'm exhausted right now, but I did this for you my friends. All for you.

Hi ALL! Ok so I started writing a blog but then I got too busy, and I kept procrastinating. But here is what I started a few weeks ago:

Well you guys, It's here. FALL!  Like a light switch, summer is over. How sad! But I realized how many cute summer clothes I have to put away that still fit Rock and I have a serious lack of fall clothes for him and myself. So it looks like I'm going shopping this weekend! Woohoo!!

I want to say we're boring and nothing is going on, but the truth is between stuff going on at work and home there are days where it's just too much and my brain explodes. And I mean there is drama EVERYWHERE. Like, it's kind of ridiculous. Thankfully this drama is not in my marriage or anything the main part of is with a friend who confided something in me that I've been helping her through and shiz is just hitting the fan! But it's good and bad. Sorry to be so vauge, ugh I hate it when people don't give the nitty gritty but I just can't right now. I knew you'd understand.

Rock has a cold and has been a little wheezy tonight so that kind of had us in a panic but we put our essential oils on him and gave him a breathing treatment and all his other stuff. I get really scared and have little anxiety attacks because I cannot go through what we went through again, I have a little bit of PTSD from it. So I think hr'll be fine tonight but since he has a little gunk in his chest I plan on calling the specialist first thing in the morning to see if there is anything else we can do for him to get it cleared up.

Goll, it just barely starts to get cold and he's sick. I'm just so scared for this winter, I hope he does ok! From what I've heard if a kid gets RSV or Phenomia, they're at high risk for having it again. But we're being SO careful and making sure we have his inhalers at all times, plus we give it to him 2x a day. Scotty is so cute, he puts his head up to his chest like every 20 minutes to listen to his lungs and breathing.

OK and this is what is CURRENTLY going on:

Rock is doing great, not wheezy, snotty or any of that stupid crap we all hate. I really do credit the doTerra Breathe oil as well as a mixture of some really great oils that my mother in law threw together for me. You probably think I'm a weirdo because it doesn't make sense how they work if you don't know much about them. But I do know that they are AMAZING. All of this homeopathic stuff I have gotten into this year has been really good for us.

We've even gone as far as drinking NASTY herbs if we even feel the smallest bug coming on, and it has gone away within a day. So I'm totally into that stuff, it's great. Try it. Essential oils are the shiz. I use doTerra AND Butterfly Express (GASP!) Some people are oil snobs and would cuss me out if they knew!!

We went to my company Halloween Party tonight. It was meh. I worked really hard to get our cute costumes does last night though, and they are awesome!! Especially Rock's. My mom made his for me, and she nailed it. The only sad part is that no one really knew who we were. I mean, they're holding a 2 year old and they don't know what Yo Gabba Gabba is? Goll..... maybe I let my kid watch it too much. Eh, oh well. He's a smart cookie and that's my business if that's what I do! But literally the only person who knew what it was without asking as a little girl about 4 or 5 and she pointed and said "Awww Gabba!!" Haha, she was a little zombie. So cute :)

Well congrats. I wrote a blog, and thank you for reading it! I really mean it though, I like people reading my blog and checking back even when I don't write in over a freaking month! I'm really tired now though and my brain....is....shutting.....down....boop...beep....be...boo...beeeeeeeeeeeee.......... goodnight.

5 Years - To Infinity & Beyond!

I'll write a quick blog while I have a minute! So things are same ol same olio. But great! Scotty and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary on Thursday Sept.8th -- woohoo! It's so weird that it has been that long. Sometimes it feels like 6 months ago, other times it seems like 20 years haha! But he took me on a little overnight raundevous in SLC. We ate at the most amazing place called The Copper Onion. It was fantastic! Loved it! I mean, if you know good food and you're a bit of a foodie you'll love it. But if you think Olive Garden is sent from above then you may not have the same appreciation. But thats ok!

After that we went to Mary Poppins at the Capitol Theater! It was so fun! I love going to the Broadway Across America shows, they are the best! I don't know why, but for the longest time I thought I had to go to New York to see all these cool shows but I'm happy they come to me! It was Scotty's first time at a show like that and he was pretty impressed. I mean, how could you not be when Bert is tap dancing up the walls and upside down?! Or when Mary just floats up and down in the air?! So cool. I got a picture. I always feel like an idiot when I pose in public places....alone. Scotty had to take it though and heaven knows he ain't posin' in no picture in front of Mary Poppins! Haha, it's ok though- still love him!

We stayed in a hotel right downtown so dinner, the theatre and all that stuff was within walking distance or a short trax ride. So that was nice not to have to find parking and all that crap. Except for the fact that the hotel charged a gay $12 fee to park overnight. So in case anyone is wondering, the Radisson sucks. But oh well, I like to book with Priceline.com and it's kind of a grab bag so you take what you get when you bid a certain price. The Snoop Dog concert was also going on I wanted to try and sneak a peak at the Gallivan Plaza and I wanted to sneak a peak over some fences but the security was pretty tight, dangit.

I wish I could be so poetic and write an beautifully written blog on how much I love Scotty, what a great Dad to Rock he is, his awesomeness, and everything he does for me. And I'm not being sarcastic, I really wish I could! I just don't have the brain capacity at the moment haha and.... I'm not poetic at all :) But my man is really all of the above. He loves my flaws, I love his and we're best friends.

Oh and my post title? I've been watching Toy Story with Rock like every night lately. Usually I'll read him a book but it doesn't keep his attention long enough but get Woody and Buzz going? Oh yeah. That kid will sit still clutching his teddy bear for like 30 minutes without moving! After that he'll get up and play, but still watch. He's getting so big and fun!!

I'm a lucky lady with these 2 fellas in my life.
